  I'm going to start with a Big Thank You to Anton, 3 years i had an extensive engine rebuild done on my BMW E92 M3, that included the fitment of a reputable Supercharger. How much does a dyno tune cost in Melbourne?–

A full dyno tune at Tuned by Apex in Epping starts from $1,200 AUD and is usually completed in one day. Factory ECU remaps start from $895, TCU tuning from $650 and diesel tuning from $795. You get an itemised quote up front. Nothing starts without your written approval.

Is a tune reversible? What about my factory warranty?+

Every tune is fully reversible: we back up your factory ECU file before we touch anything and store it securely, so your car can be returned to stock at any time. Be aware most manufacturer powertrain warranties are affected once the ECU is remapped; we give you a plain-English breakdown before anything goes on the car.

Is ECU tuning legal in Victoria?+

Yes, ECU tuning is legal in Victoria for road vehicles as long as the car remains emissions-compliant and roadworthy. For modified, imported or individually constructed vehicles that need VASS approval, Tuned by Apex is a VicRoads-approved RG240 emissions tester and can test and certify in-house.

How long does a dyno tune take?+

Most car tunes are completed in one day: baseline dyno runs, custom calibration on our Mainline AWD dyno, then verification pulls and a road test. Bigger performance builds take one to four weeks. You receive a before/after dyno sheet with every tune.

Do you tune diesel utes and 4WDs?+

Yes, diesel tuning starts from $795 AUD and covers utes, 4WDs and wagons including the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Land Cruiser, Isuzu D-Max, Triton and Navara. Tunes are tailored for towing, fuel economy or outright power, and every map is verified on the dyno before you drive out.
